Hill is a big target for Mahomes, and at 6’3″, he has the size to go up and get jump balls. He also has the speed to break away from defenders, as he showed on his touchdown catch in the preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hill’s Early Life and Career
Chiefs fans were first introduced to Hill in 2016, when the team selected him in the fifth round of the NFL Draft. A native of St. Louis, Hill attended high school in the city before playing college football at Oklahoma State University.
During his time with the Cowboys, Hill established himself as one of the best wide receivers in college football. Hill had a breakout rookie season with the Chiefs, catching 61 passes for 593 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for 267 yards and three touchdowns.

Hill was born and raised in Huntsville, Texas. He attended Central High School in his hometown, where he played football and ran track. Hill was a two-time state champion in the 100-meter dash, with a personal best time of 10.28 seconds. He also ran the 200-meter dash in 21.40 seconds. As a senior, he was named the Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year for Texas.
Hill also competed in long jump and triple jump, but his main focus was always on running. He even considered himself a “track guy” first and foremost, only venturing into football his senior year of high school after a friend talked him into it. It turned out to be a pretty good decision, as Hill would go on to catch 47 passes for 1,055 yards and 15 touchdowns that season.
