The building is 1,138 feet (347 m) tall, making it the third-tallest building in Chicago and the fifth-tallest in the United States. The McCormick on Kansas was designed by Lucien Lagrange Architects and developed by Golub & Company. It is located in Lakeshore East, next to Lakeshore Plaza Park and within walking distance of Millennium Park, the Magnificent Mile, and other downtown attractions.
The McCormick on Kansas has 703 residential units, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments. The building also has 12 penthouse units. Residences are outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, hardwood floors, and in-unit washers and dryers. Building amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor pool deck with cabanas, a resident lounge, a business center, and concierge services.

It will have a total of 2.5 million square feet of space, including 1.5 million square feet of office space, 600,000 square feet of residential space, and 400,000 square feet of retail space. The building is being developed by Sterling Bay, and is designed by Perkins+Will.
