How to Register to Vote in Kansas
You can register to vote in Kansas if you are:
A citizen of the United States
A resident of Kansas
At least 18 years old on the day of the next election
Not currently adjudicated as mentally incompetent by a court
You will need to provide proof of citizenship and residency when you register.

The Kansas Secretary of State’s website is the best place to start when you are looking for information on how to register to vote in Kansas. On the website, you will find links to register online, by mail, or in person. You can also find information on what ID you will need to bring with you when you go to register, as well as links to update your registration if you have moved or changed your name.

Click on the “Voter Registration” tab

1. Click on the “Voter Registration” tab at the top of the home page.
2. On the right side of the page, under the “What do I need to know?” section, click on the link that says “about registering to vote.”
3. Read through the information on the next page about who can register to vote and what you will need in order to register.
4. When you are ready to begin, click on the link that says “click here to register online.”
5. Fill out all of the required information on the next page, including your name, address, date of birth, social security number, and driver’s license number.
6. Once you have completed all of the required fields, click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.
7. You will then be taken to a confirmation page that will tell you that your registration has been processed and provide you with a confirmation number.

Fill out the online form

To register to vote in Kansas, you must fill out the online form. The form requires your name, address, date of birth, and Social Security number. You will also need to provide an email address.

You must print out the completed form and mail it to your county election office. The address is on the form. If you do not have access to a printer, you can go to your county election office and fill out a paper form there.
You can also register in person at your county election office, some state agencies, or various locations in your community including public libraries, schools and city halls.

Mail the completed form to your county election office

You can also complete a paper voter registration application and mail it to your county election office. The application must be postmarked at least 21 days before the next election. You can get a paper application from your county election office or print one from the Kansas Secretary of State’s website.

To register by mail, you will need to provide:
-Your name, date of birth, Kansas driver’s license or ID number, Social Security number
-Your address, email address and phone number
-A copy of your Kansas driver’s license or ID card (if you have one)

If you do not have a Kansas driver’s license or ID card, you will need to provide:
-A copy of another form of identification that includes your name and photograph (such as a passport, military ID card or student ID card)
-Your complete out-of-state driver’s license number (if you have one)
