Preview of the game
No. 1 Kansas will put its perfect 13-0 record on the line when it hosts North Carolina on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks are coming off an impressive 89-68 victory over then-No. 6 Villanova on Tuesday, while the Tar Heels are coming off a 79-76 loss to unranked Ohio State.
This will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2016, when North Carolina won 79-73 in Chapel Hill. Kansas is 2-1 all-time against North Carolina, with the only other meeting coming in 1957.
The Jayhawks are led by junior guard Devon Dotson, who is averaging 18.1 points and 5.6 assists per game. Freshman guard Quentin Grimes is also averaging in double figures for Kansas, putting up 16.7 points per game.
Sophomore forward Luke Maye is leading the way for North Carolina, averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds per game. Senior guard Cameron Johnson is also averaging in double figures for the Tar Heels, putting up 16 points per game while shooting 45 percent from 3-point range.
