Who is Dababy?
Dababy is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is from Charlotte, North Carolina. His hitsingle “Suge” peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Dababy has been nominated for three Grammy Awards. He has a daughter named Royalty.
A bit about his life
Dababy, who’s real name is Jonathan Kirk, was born on December 22, 1991, in Cleveland, Ohio. When he was just a baby, his family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. Dababy grew up in a tough neighborhood and dropped out of high school in the ninth grade. He worked a series of odd jobs before eventually finding his way into the music industry.
Dababy’s big break came in 2015 when he released his first mixtape, “Non-Fiction.” The mixtape caught the attention of several record labels and Dababy soon found himself with a recording contract. He released his debut album, “Baby on Baby,” in 2019 and it quickly shot to the top of the charts.
Dababy has had a very successful career so far, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. In 2019, he was involved in a shooting at a nightclub in Miami, Florida. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured and Dababy was not charged with any crime.
Despite this setback, Dababy’s career has continued to thrive. He released his second album, “Kirk,” in 2019 and it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. He followed that up with another number one album in 2020 with “Blame It on Baby.”
Dababy is one of the biggest names in hip hop right now and he shows no signs of slowing down.
His music
Dougie Baby, who was born in 1997 in Cleveland, Ohio, is a new wave hip-hop rapper who has become popular for his funny and witty rhymes. His first album, Baby on Baby, was released in 2019 and reached number seven on the Billboard 200. His follow-up album Kirk reached number one on the Billboard 200. Dababy’s music is often characterized as being “mumble rap,” but he has said that he does not like this term because it is used to describe rappers who do not enunciate their words well.
What did Dababy say about Kansas City?
Dababy recently visited Kansas City and had nothing but good things to say about the city. He praised the food, the people, and the atmosphere. He even said that he would be back soon.
The interview
In an interview with The Fader, when asked about his thoughts on Kansas City, Dababy had this to say:
“Kansas City, they showed me so much love. Bro, they went crazy. They was going nuts. I was doing my show and I was like, ‘Dang, I might have to come back here.'”
He also went on to say that the city has “a lot of energy.”
What he had to say
Dababy, who hail from North Carolina, recently stopped by Kansas City on his tour in support of his debut album, Baby on Baby. While in the city, he stopped by a local radio station to talk to the DJ about his experience so far.
“Kansas City has been amazing,” Dababy said. “The people have been so kind and welcoming, and the shows have been great. I’m really enjoying myself here.”
He went on to say that he was particularly impressed with the city’s barbecue, saying that it was “some of the best he’s ever had.”
