Dababy, who’s real name is Jonathan Kirk, was born on December 22, 1991, in Cleveland, Ohio. When he was just a baby, his family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. Dababy grew up in a tough neighborhood and dropped out of high school in the ninth grade. He worked a series of odd jobs before eventually finding his way into the music industry.

Dababy’s big break came in 2015 when he released his first mixtape, “Non-Fiction.” The mixtape caught the attention of several record labels and Dababy soon found himself with a recording contract. He released his debut album, “Baby on Baby,” in 2019 and it quickly shot to the top of the charts.

Dababy has had a very successful career so far, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. In 2019, he was involved in a shooting at a nightclub in Miami, Florida. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured and Dababy was not charged with any crime.

“Kansas City, they showed me so much love. Bro, they went crazy. They was going nuts. I was doing my show and I was like, ‘Dang, I might have to come back here.'”

Dababy, who hail from North Carolina, recently stopped by Kansas City on his tour in support of his debut album, Baby on Baby. While in the city, he stopped by a local radio station to talk to the DJ about his experience so far.

“Kansas City has been amazing,” Dababy said. “The people have been so kind and welcoming, and the shows have been great. I’m really enjoying myself here.”

He went on to say that he was particularly impressed with the city’s barbecue, saying that it was “some of the best he’s ever had.”
