Dorothy Gale

Dorothy Gale is a fictional character created by American author L. Frank Baum. She is the protagonist of Baum’s most famous work, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, published in 1900. Dorothy also appears in sequels, numerous works by other authors, and numerous adaptations in other media.

Wyatt Earp

Earp was born in Monmouth, Illinois, the first child of Nicholas Porter Earp and his second wife, Virginia Ann Cooksey. He was named after his father’s commanding officer in the Mexican-American War, Captain Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp. His father had served in the Union Army during the American Civil War and had run a livery stable.

William Quantrill

One of the most controversial figures in Kansas history, William Quantrill was a Confederate guerrilla leader during the Civil War. His Raiders were responsible for the massacre of nearly 200 unarmed civilians in Lawrence, Kansas in 1863. Although he was later killed in action, his brutal legacy has forever tarnished his home state.
