Whether you’re a Chiefs fan or just want to watch some football, you may be wondering “What time does the Kansas City game start today?”
The answer depends on a few factors, including the team they’re playing and whether the game is at home or away.
Here is a look at the Chiefs’ upcoming games and their start times:
The Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City and assumed their current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion. Hunt’s son, Clark, serves as chairman and CEO.
The Chiefs have won three AFL championships, in 1962, 1966, and 1969. They became the second AFL team (after the New York Jets) to defeat an NFL team in an AFL–NFL World Championship Game when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. The team’s victory on January 11, 1970, remains the club’s last championship game victory and appearance to date. Between 1995 and 2016, the franchise appeared in seven consecutive AFC Championship Games, but failed to win each time; this streak is tied for second-longest behind only Pittsburgh with eight straight appearances from 1974 through 1981. As of 2020, they have appeared in 19 AFC Championship Games—more than any other team in that timespan—and have a conference championship win percentage of .368, which ranks fourth among all teams since 1970; they have also won 14 division championships (second most since 1970), most recently in 2019 when they clinched their sixth consecutive AFC West title. including eight wild card berths since 2002; however, they have not won a playoff game since beating Houston Texans on January 9th, 1994—a streak of 23 straight playoff losses that is an NFL record for any franchise between Super Bowl appearances—in what became known as the “Buffalo Bills Curse”.
