The Kansas City Zoo is open all year long.
The Kansas City Zoo is open all year long. Public Zoo hours are from 9:30am to 4:00pm. The Zoo will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. On days when the weather is bad, the Zoo may close early or open late. Please call 816- Slug to find out if the Zoo is open before you come.

The Kansas City Zoo is located in historic Swope Park, just minutes from downtown KC. The Zoo is open every day of the year except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. We are also closed on the first Tuesday of every month for maintenance purposes. On those days, we will reopen at noon.
During the summer months, we offer extended hours until 7:00pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Please note that some attractions close earlier than others do on extended hours days. For your convenience, a complete schedule of closing times is posted at each attraction and throughout the Zoo grounds.

– New Year’s Day: 10:00am-4:00pm
Admission prices are as follows:
– Adults (ages 12+): $15.00
– Seniors (ages 65+): $13.50
– Children (ages 3-11): $11.50
– Infants (ages 2 and under): Free
