When Does Carolina and Kansas Play?

The college basketball season is in full swing and one of the most anticipated match-ups is when Carolina and Kansas play. These two powerhouse programs are set to face off on February 8th.

March Madness

In the NCAA, the Carolina Tar heels and the Jayhawks from Kansas will go head to head in the tournament this year. These two amazing teams have been practicing hard and are ready to show their skills on the court. This will be an excellent game to watch!

What is it?

March Madness is the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams that compete in seven rounds for the national championship. The first four rounds are known as the “First Four,” and take place at campus sites on the Tuesday and Wednesday before the first round of the main tournament. The first round of the main tournament, which features 64 teams, takes place on Thursday and Friday at various venues around the country. The tournament then proceeds to the Sweet Sixteen (tonight!), Elite Eight, Final Four (this weekend!), and Championship game (Monday night!).

When is it?

March Madness is the annual NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. The tournament starts with 68 teams, which are whittled down to the “Sweet Sixteen,” then the “Elite Eight,” and finally the “Final Four.” The tournament culminates with the National Championship game.

The 2019 tournament will begin on Tuesday, March 19th and Wednesday, March 20th with the “First Four” games. The first and second rounds will be held on Thursday, March 21st through Sunday, March 24th. The Regional Semifinals (Sweet Sixteen) are on Thursday, March 28th and Friday, March 29th, while the Regional Finals (Elite Eight) are on Saturday, March 30th and Sunday, March 31st. The Final Four Semifinals will be held on Saturday, April 6th, with the National Championship game being played on Monday April 8th.

The Teams


The Carolina Panthers are a professional American football team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Panthers compete in the National Football League (NFL), as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The team is headquartered in Bank of America Stadium in uptown Charlotte; they also maintain offices in the nearby suburb of Matthews. The Panthers are supported throughout the Carolinas; although the team has played its home games exclusively in Charlotte since 1996, they played home games inboth Memphis, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky during their first nine seasons.

The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. Originally named the Dallas Texans, the club was founded by Lamar Hunt in 1960 as a charter member of the AFL. In 1963, the team moved to Kansas City and assumed their current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the merger with the AFL in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion.


The Jayhawks, founded in 1898, play their home games at historic Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. The Jayhawks are currently coached by Bill Self and are members of the Big 12 Conference. In total, Kansas has won 32 regular season conference championships and 13 conference tournament championships. The Jayhawks have also made 29 trips to the NCAA Tournament, including 27 consecutive appearances dating back to 1990. Kansas has advanced to 13 Final Fours in school history, winning the National Championship in 2008.

When is it?

The Game is an annual college football rivalry game between the University of Carolina Tar Heels and the University of Kansas Jayhawks. It is usually played in early November, and it is one of the most-anticipated games of the college football season. This year, The Game will be played on November 3rd.

What channel is it on?

The game will air on ESPN at 8:00pm ET.

The Outcome

The game has huge upset potential. No. 1 Kansas is a 14-point favorite over No. 9 North Carolina, but the Jayhawks have not looked like the same team that started the season 25-0. UNC, meanwhile, has won eight in a row and seems to be peaking at the right time.
