Bill Snyder is considered to have turned the Kansas State University football program around. He took over as head coach in 1989 and led the team to six bowl games in his first seven seasons. The team has continued to be successful under Snyder, winning ten or more games in eight of the last nine seasons.
Chris Klieman
Chris Klieman is the current head coach of the Kansas State University football team. He was hired in December of 2018 after Bill Snyder retired. Klieman is a native of Pennsylvania and played college football at North Dakota State. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater before becoming the head coach at Division II Loras College in 2007. From there, he took an assistant coaching position at Northern Iowa before returning to North Dakota State as the defensive coordinator in 2011. Klieman was promoted to head coach at North Dakota State in 2013 and led the team to four national championships in six years. He has a career record of 104-13 (.889).
