He played college football at the University of Utah, where he was a two-time Mountain West Conference Player of the Year. Smith has been with the Chiefs since 2013 and has led them to three consecutive AFC West division titles. He was named the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year in 2017 after suffering a season-ending injury in 2016.

Bray has also been a member of the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Aaron Murray

Aaron Murray is a former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Georgia, and was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Murray had a successful career as a collegiate quarterback, setting numerous SEC records. As a senior in 2013, he was recognized as a consensus All-American. In his four years at Georgia, he completed 921 of 1,478 passes for 13,166 yards and 121 touchdowns with 36 interceptions.

Quarterbacks on the Practice Squad

The Kansas City Chiefs have four quarterbacks on their practice squad. Chase Litton, Shea Patterson, Kyle Shurmur, and Tyler Bray are all vying for a spot on the roster. Let’s take a look at each of their backgrounds.

Aaron Murray

Murray originally signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia in 2014. He spent his rookie season on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in December. After impressing during the preseason, Murray was once again cut at the end of training camp and reverted back to the practice squad.
