The team’s headquarters and practice facilities are at Arrowhead Practice Facility on the campus of Trinity High School in River Ridge, Louisiana.

The Chiefs have won three AFL championships, in 1962, 1966, and 1969. They became the second AFL team (after the New York Jets) to defeat an NFL team in an AFL–NFL World Championship Game when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. The team’s victory on January 11, 1970, remains the club’s last championship game victory and appearance to date, 44 years later. Between 1995 and 2016, including thirteen playoff appearances and two trips to the AFC Championship game, they have only had two losing seasons: 1999 with a 6–10 record under then-head coach Gunther Cunningham and 2012 with a 2–14 record under Romeo Crennel during which they set an NFL record for futility with an 0–16 record.
