The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team moved to Kansas City and assumed their current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion.[8] In 2019, Forbes ranked the Chiefs as the 28th most valuable sports franchise in the world and 14th in NFL history.[9]

On January 12, 1950, Lamar Hunt was granted a franchise for an American Football League team to be based in Dallas. Hunt’s DowntownDallas Stadium Corporation was given exclusive rights to purchase season tickets for a yet-to-be-built stadium for $25 each.[10]

In June 1959, following litigation brought by Hunt against rival NFL owner George Halas over signing gone-bad Chicago Cardinals’ quarterback Otto Graham to play for his new team,[11][12] Halas and Hunt reached an agreement for one AFL–NFL championship game to be played annually starting with the 1950 season. This agreement was formalized during a meeting on June 24 between representatives of both leagues at New York’s Astor Hotel.[13][14][15]

Their Record

This season, the Kansas City Chiefs have had an incredible run – winning 12 out of their 14 regular season games. So far, they have beat their opponents by an average of 9 points per game, and their offense is currently ranked second in the NFL. Plus, they have the best kicker in the league! Needless to say, fans are ecstatic about their team’s chances heading into the playoffs.

Under the leadership of head coach Andy Reid, the Chiefs have been one of the most consistent teams in the league over the past few years. In fact, they have made it to the playoffs four out of the last five seasons. This year, they are determined to make it all the way to the Super Bowl and bring home a championship for Kansas City.

The Chiefs will be facing off against the Houston Texans in the first round of the playoffs. The Texans are a good team, but they are not as strong as Kansas City. If the Chiefs can play to their potential, they should be able to win this game and move on to face either New England or Baltimore in the next round.

No matter what happens in the playoffs, it has been a great season for Chiefs fans. We will be cheering them on every step of the way!

There are four teams total in the playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs play the Houston Texans, the Baltimore Ravens play the Buffalo Bills, and the Seattle Seahawks play the Philadelphia Eagles. All four of these teams are great competitors and it will be interesting to see how the playoffs play out.

The Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are a professional football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. They are members of the National Football League (NFL) and play in the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, the owner of the Cleveland Browns, decided to relocate the franchise to Baltimore.

The Ravens have won two Super Bowls (XXXV and XLVII), two AFC Championships (2000 and 2012), and three AFC North titles (2003, 2006, and 2011). They have also appeared in the playoffs ten times since 2000, including five times in a row from 2008 to 2012. The Ravens currently have the fourth-best record in the NFL, behind only the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2018, the Ravens hired John Harbaugh as their head coach. Harbaugh has led the team to a 108-72 record over his eleven seasons with the Ravens, including a 9-7 record in 2018. The Ravens finished first in the AFC North for the third time under Harbaugh’s tenure in 2018.

The Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team based in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The Chargers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. They were founded on August 14, 1959, and began play on September 10, 1960, as charter members of the American Football League (AFL), and spent their first season in Los Angeles.

The New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston area. The Patriots compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is 22 miles (35 km) southwest of downtown Boston.

The Patriots are also headquartered at Gillette Stadium. An original member of the American Football League (AFC), the Patriots joined the NFL in 1970 as part of the AFL–NFL merger. The team changed its name from the original Boston Patriots after relocating to Foxborough in 1971. The Patriots played their home games at Foxboro Stadium from 1971 to 2001, then moved to Gillette Stadium at the start of 2002 season. The Patriots’ rivalry with the New York Jets is considered one of the most bitter rivalries in the NFL.

Bill Belichick has been the head coach of the Patriots since 2000, making him the longest-tenured head coach in NFL history. Belichick has led them to 16 AFC East division titles, 13 appearances in conference championships, and nine Super Bowl appearances, with a record six wins. Belichick is tied with Pro Football Hall of Famer Paul Brown with eight NFL championships overall (both including pre-Super Bowl era titles). Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr., commonly known as Tom Brady, is an American football quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He is one of only two players to win five Super Bowls (the other being defensive end Charles Haley), and he is also one of only two quarterbacks to win five Super Bowls and four Super Bowl MVPs (the other being Bart Starr).

The Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Steelers compete in the National Football League (NFL), as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) North division. Founded in 1933, the Steelers are the oldest franchise in the AFC.

In contrast with their status as perennial also-rans in the pre-merger NFL, where they were winners of only two league championships, the Steelers of the post-merger era are one of the most successful NFL franchises. They have won 8 AFC championships, more than any other team in the conference, and appeared in more conference championship games than any other team in NFL history. The Steelers have also played in more Super Bowls than any other AFC or NFC team, appearing in 8 and winning 6 of them, both NFL records. They currently hold the record for most Super Bowl appearances (8) and share the record for second most Super Bowl wins (6) with their fellow AFC rivals New England Patriots.
