Brooks’ sixth studio album, Fresh Horses (1995), was a departure from his previous albums in that it had a more rock-influenced sound. The album was a commercial disappointment; although it debuted at #1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts, it was certified only 2× Platinum by the RIAA. In 1997, Brooks released Sevens, which resumed his streak of number-one country hits; it also became his second-best selling album after No Fences. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 but quickly ascended to number one in its second week of release; it remained atop that chart for four weeks. It stayed in the top ten for twenty-eight weeks overall. The lead single from Sevens was “Longneck Bottle”, which reached number one on both country radio charts
