Pitching Rotation

The Kansas City Royals have a great pitching rotation this year. They have five solid starters that can go deep into games and keep the team in the game. The starters are as follows: Danny Duffy, Ian Kennedy, Jason Vargas, Jakob Junis, and Kyle Zimmer.

Danny Duffy

Today’s pitching match-up features two young left-handers, the Royals’ Danny Duffy and the Brewers’ Manny Pina. Duffy will be making his fifth start of the season, and he’s coming off a disappointing outing against the Rays in which he lasted just four innings and gave up four runs on six hits. Duffy has had some success against the Brewers in his career, however, posting a 3.38 ERA in four starts. He’ll need to be on his game today if the Royals want to avoid getting swept by Milwaukee.

Brad Keller

Today’s starting pitcher is Brad Keller.

Keller is a right-handed pitcher who has been with the Royals since 2019.

He has a career record of 16-23 with a 4.56 ERA.

Jakob Junis

Jakob Junis will take the mound for the Kansas City Royals today as they take on the Detroit Tigers. Junis has been with the Royals since 2017 and has a career record of 30-24. He has pitched well so far this season, posting a 3.33 ERA in nine starts. The Royals will be hoping he can keep up this form as they look to move up the standings in the AL Central.

Pitching Matchups

Today the Kansas City Royals will take on the Chicago White Sox. The Royals will have Danny Duffy pitching for them. Duffy has a 3-1 record with a 3.27 ERA. The White Sox will have Reynaldo Lopez pitching for them. Lopez has a 1-3 record with a 6.38 ERA.

Duffy vs. Indians

Danny Duffy will take the mound for the Royals today against the Indians. Duffy has had an up and down season, but he has been pitching better as of late. In his last outing, Duffy pitched seven innings of shutout baseball against the Tampa Bay Rays. He will look to keep the momentum going today against an Indians offense that has been struggling as of late.

Keller vs. White Sox

Keller will make his first start of the season Tuesday against the White Sox. The right-hander went 0-1 with an 8.64 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and seven strikeouts across 10.2 innings (two starts, four relief appearances) last season with Kansas City.

Junis vs. Twins

Today’s game will feature right-hander Jakob Junis of the Kansas City Royals pitching against the Minnesota Twins. Junis has a 3.33 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in nine starts this season. In his last outing, he took a no-decision after giving up four runs on six hits in six innings against the Chicago White Sox. He has struggled with the long ball this season, giving up eight home runs in 54 innings pitched. The Twins will counter with left-hander Rich Hill, who has a 2.62 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in nine starts this season. He is coming off a no-decision against the Texas Rangers in which he gave up three runs on six hits in six innings pitched.
