Reid played college football at Brigham Young University and then spent one season as a graduate assistant coach at San Francisco State University before beginning his professional coaching career with the Green Bay Packers in 1992. As a head coach, Reid has led the Eagles to six NFC East division championships, four conference championship games, and one Super Bowl appearance. He was named NFL Coach of the Year by Sporting News in 2000 and 2004. He was also named NFC Coach of the Year by United Press International in 2002. Under Reid’s leadership, the Eagles made seven playoff appearances between 2000 and 2009—an NFL record for most playoff appearances by a team in such a span. They also became only the second team in NFL history to have back-to-back 14–win seasons.

The team began play in 1960 as the Dallas Texans, a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). The club was founded by Lamar Hunt, son of oil tycoon H. L. Hunt, who originally wanted to purchase an NFL franchise but was unable to because of that league’s blackout rules at the time. When the AFL began operations in 1960 with eight inaugural teams, the Texans shared the Kansas City market with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs.
In 1963, after the Texans won AFL championships in 1962 and 1963, Hunt decided to move the team to Kansas City and rename it the Chiefs. The Texans/Chiefs were the only AFL teams to remain in their original city throughout their existence.

The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs have won three AFL championships, in 1962, 1966, and 1969. They became the second AFL team (after the New York Jets) to defeat an NFL team in an AFL–NFL World Championship Game when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. Conclusion
Since the Kansas City Chiefs fired former head coach Todd Haley on December 3, 2011, there has been much speculation about who will be their next head coach. Romeo Crennel, the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator, was named the interim head coach and led the team to a 2-1 record in the final three games of the season.
However, it is widely believed that Crennel is not the long-term answer for the Chiefs and that they will be looking for a new head coach for the 2012 season. Among the names that have been mentioned as potential candidates are former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Sherman, current Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey, and current New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
