The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City and assumed its current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion.

The Kansas City Chiefs have released their 2019 preseason schedule, which features four games, including a matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame Game.
The Chiefs will open the preseason on August 1st against the Bengals in Cincinnati. They’ll then travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers on August 29th. After a week off, they’ll return home to Arrowhead Stadium to host the Steelers on September 5th in the Hall of Fame Game. They became the second AFL team (after the New York Jets) to defeat an NFL team in an AFL–NFL World Championship Game when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. The team’s victory on January 11, 1970, remains the club’s last championship win and appearance to date. They hosted and won AFC Championship Games in 1993 and 2019 but lost Super Bowls IV and LIV to their rival, the San Francisco 49ers.
