The Score
Kansas
The Jayhawks won the Sweet Sixteen matchup against the Miami Hurricanes, thanks in large part to a stellar performance from center Udoka Azubuike. Azubuike was a force to be reckoned with in the paint, finishing with 27 points and 10 rebounds. He also had four blocks, helping to protect the rim against Miami’s drives to the basket. Kansas will now move on to the Elite Eight, where they will face off against Oregon.
Miami
The Miami Hurricanes went into Kansas and came out with a win, extending their winning streak to three games. With the score being so close, it was a hard-fought battle by both teams. However, in the end, Miami’s defense was just too much for the Jayhawks.
Leading the way for the Hurricanes was their quarterback, D’Eriq King, who threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. The Jayhawks quarterback, Carter Stanley, also had a good game throwing for one touchdown. But it wasn’t enough as Miami’s defense came up with big stops when they needed it most.
With the win, Miami improves to 3-0 on the season and will look to continue their winning ways next week against Florida State.
