32-29 was the score, with Green Bay on top. This wasn’t an upset, but it was close. The Packers needed a win, and they got one. This victory gives them a bit of breathing room in the NFC playoff race.
Green Bay’s offense was too much for Kansas City
The Green Bay Packers offense was too much for the Kansas City Chiefs defense as the Packers won 31-24. The Packers offense, led by QB Aaron Rodgers, was able to put up 31 points on a Chiefs defense that had only given up 19 points per game coming in to the contest. The Chiefs offense, led by QB Patrick Mahomes, was able to put up 24 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Packers came away with the victory.
Green Bay’s defense was too much for Kansas City
The Green Bay Packers’ defense was too much for the Kansas City Chiefs, as the Packers won 31-24. The Packers’ defense sacked Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes five times and held the Chiefs to just 60 yards rushing. This was enough to offset a strong performance by Mahomes, who threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns.
Kansas City lost the game
The game was a close one, but Kansas City ultimately lost. Green Bay’s defense was able to contain Kansas City’s offense, and Green Bay’s offense was able to score when it needed to. This was a disappointing loss for Kansas City, but there are still a lot of games left in the season.

Green Bay also ran 31 more plays (85 to 54) than Kansas City, won the time-of-possession battle by nearly 10 minutes (37:05 to 27:55) and held the ball for nearly twice as long on its possessions (34:22 to 18:38).
Kansas City’s defense couldn’t keep up with Green Bay
The Kansas City Chiefs defense couldn’t keep up with the Green Bay Packers offense in their 38-28 loss in the AFC Championship game. The Packers scored on their first four possessions of the game, including two touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams. The Chiefs were able to get within ten points in the fourth quarter, but they were never able to take the lead. This is the second straight year that the Packers have beaten the Chiefs in the playoffs.
